In the Impermanence series, the word “me” is repeated throughout the painting, written in cursive and without spaces so as to lose its significance.

The “me” in the paintings is not obvious at first but impossible to unsee after it’s noticed. I chose this word because I realized that I needed to put myself first. It is meant to be empowering and not narcissistic and for me it represents the courage it takes to speak up for oneself.
